Pictures good, movie problematic

Pros :
- This camera takes great pictures
- Simple to operate
- Battery life is very good

Cons :
- Movie mode is problematic to say the least. Movie is recorded OK on the camera, when you transfer it (in quicktime format) you have no end of problems as this camera does not conform completly to the quicktime standard. The upshot the movie freezes and stops and loses sync.

I've just got this camera for my 21st birthday. It is my first 'proper' digital camera - and I love it! I was a little worried when the batteries supplied with the camera ran out after taking a around 20 pictures, but I got myself a set of 4 rechargeable Ni-MH 2100mAh batteries that charge it about 1 hr, and they last for a lot longer. I love the detail possible with this camera, and I have been using the 'close up' setting a lot. The camera itself is very compact, and fairly small considering what it is capable of.

Photography made easy

Husband bought me this camera for Christmas along with the printer docker. Its fantastic. The quality of the printed photos is excellent, just as good as the in-store printers. Very easy to use (even for me). Can't praise it highly enough. Go on buy it you'll not be dissapointed.

Love it!!

I bought this camera after lots of consideration, and have to say i love it. It’s really easy to use, the software the comes with it is really user friendly as well. This camera has loads of features and although some do come out a little dark the Kodak software soon fixes that so don’t see it as an issue. After using four other digital cameras i can also say that the shutter speed on this one is excellent!! which is great when you need to catch the moment quickly. So overall I very satisfied with this little baby and would definitely recommend it.

One of the best I've had

I'd prefer to have given this four and a half stars but you can't so there you go. I like this camera but a couple of things annoy me, hence the less than perfect score. It's not the greatest at close ups and the battery case door is a bit flimsy. I'd advise being a bit gentle when you open it as I don't think it would last long if you weren't. The picture quality is good, though, and it is easy to use. I have taken some terrific photos in a dark room and some beauties outside. One of my tabby cat shows his range of colours beautifully. It's definitely one of the best lower priced digital cameras I've had.

Great and simple to use camera

This really is a great little camera. So easy to use and great quality pictures. For a first time digital user I couldn't be happier with my purchase as it almost does everything for you and is a real point and shoot affair making it perfect for days out and evening get togethers. Cant wait to take it on holiday and start capturing some memories.

Easy to use camera

We bought this camera for our 7 year old daughter's birthday.
She loves it, has found it very easy to use - likes taking portraits, landscapes and flower photos. Has managed to take colour and monochrome photos and videos, all by herself. Even digital scared Grandma has been converted by this camera.
As Digital SLR user, I have also been know to get this camera out for quick snaps. Print quality on our photo printer very acceptable.
Particularly wanted the direct connection to the TV to do photo slide shows while on holiday - which was hard to find on other cameras around this price.
A great little camera - I'd recommend to anyone looking for an entry level camera for themselves or a child.

A nice introduction to digital photography

This is a nice, basic digital camera that gives surprisingly good quality images, and has an LCD screen for image previewing and management.

Good points : Kodak quality ! I found the LCD screen to be very useful for"framing" the picture, and the menu system is simple and easy to navigate. Image quality and resolution is excellent for such a low-priced camera, and the menu interface on the camera is simple to follow.

Bad points : The flash is far too bright and tends to"ghost" people, particularly close up. Digital zoom is the only focussing enhancement, and is only available on the lowest image quality. The internal memory is only 2MB which means that you won't be able to store many images at top quality, but then it's only designed to store a few snaps - if you need to store more, you can buy a standard CompactFlash card in various sizes to accomodate your needs. CF cards are very inexpensive and offer huge capacity if you need it. Image transfer via a serial cable is quite slow, as you would expect.

However, don't let the bad points stop you from considering this camera - they are essentially a result of keeping the cost of the camera down to a very realistic level. Don't confuse it with cheap and nasty low-resolution cameras - this is a superb digital camera for an introduction to digital photography, and the images it produces are of excellent quality. If you need a basic digital camera for clear images, and aren't too fussy about optical zoom, I'd recommend it heartily. I'm sure I'll be using this camera for quite some time.

Gotta love this camera!

My Third Kodak camera now, and this one is amazing! Does all the things you need it to do plus more!

If you wanna spend more money, you can get lenses that fit onto the adpater it coems with, so far I have got macro lenses, polarising lenses, wide angle lenses, and a lot more.

This camera also"blurs" its background when taking photos of subjects/objects, like you see the Professional SLR cameras do.

Has many built in features, I love taking photos, and using this camera just gives them that professional edge!

My second kodak

bought as a replacement for my excellent but old and beaten DX6490 but has turned out to be a real disappointment in terms of picture quality.
